On orgasms and emotional attachment

Jan was bemoaning the fact that New Woman has yet to have an orgasm at his hands, despite his ‘breast efforts’ – his words, not mine – hoho.  I asked him if she’d ever experienced any and she had told him yes although rarely.  He wondered if it meant he was not the right man for her because of it.  He said he used to believe that in the past, less so now that he is cautious when applying mystical significance to things like this.

These days he’s more ready to believe that whether or not a woman has an orgasm depends more on how much she trusts her partner, to allow him/her to see her in her  moment of vulnerability.  There may be some truth in that although I’m more inclined to think that when a woman thinks of sex as something taboo, she inevitably feels a certain amount…
